| Two Perseid Meteors speed across the Milky Way |
The above image was taken with my Canon 600D DSLR with an EOS 18-55 mm at F4 mounted on my new 'Star Adventurer' transportable mount. The night sky in Teesdale is dark and almost transparent. The Milky Way could be seen with the naked eye stretching from horizon to horizon. If you look carefully towards the top right edge of the image you can see the tiny 'spiral' that is the Andromeda Galaxy some 2.5 million light years distant.
Unfortunately, the weather was not kind and in the week we spent on the 'farm' only one night presented the opportunity for astrophotography.
