"We purchased this from a charity shop in Southend. We know nothing about the artist or the subject matter. The above information was written on the back of the wood block in pencil. There is an initial 'f' cut into the lower left corner of the block. Someone has subsequently painted the  cut away areas with a metallic gold paint. Carduelis carduelis

One of the prettiest of the finches common in UK gardens throughout the year. Today, this sociable little bird and its partner were feeding on seeds hung from our bird table. We really enjoy their 'twittering' calls as they perch in the shrubs prior to feeding.
