Our tiny garden was once part of a wild wood but thankfully no one told the Bluebells there had been changes.

'Bluebells' - Watercolour and acrylic ink in the sketchbook.
- George Roberts May 2025

We have English and Spanish bluebells in our garden and we look forward to seeing both each spring. They look remarkably similar.  By wishing them "Good Morning" you can differentiate between the two varieties. 'The English' look mildly embarrassed and say nothing. 'The Spanish' toss their heads and shout "Hola"!

I tried using coloured acrylic ink for the first time and enjoyed the experience. The next time I use acrylic paint on canvas, I will try using the acrylic ink with dip pens for the fine detail. The most wonderful and unexpected of all things in this world, are finding love, beauty and how things work.

Lord Byron - Adventurer gone mad!

'A moist Lord Byron imagined rowing back across the Hellespont'. - Circa early 1800's - recreated by Copilot and Joel Cairo to celebrate the 215th Anniversary.

'Byron was just not up to it'

According to my AI app

Which, may or not be ‘digi-crap’

215 years ago today in this

sunny and verdant, month of May.

Lord Byron for a student stunt

Did swim across the Hellespont

but sadly stamina our hero did lack

And should have hired a row-boat

for safely getting back.

Joel Cairo May 3 2025

This poem was subsequently amended because Joel Cairo's smart wife pointed out to him, that Lord Byron drowned! - "All done in the best of possible taste".- the late Sid Snot.

Erratum: His partner, now says, oops! -she has been watching too much Telly it wasn't Byron it was Shelley! Lord Byron died of a fever and no one could save him, in Greece, and Joel didn't know that he co-starred with John Travolta in the blockbuster film musical release.
